Behold: The Radiance of GOD

By |2017-09-17T19:53:56+00:00September 17th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

The Son... who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person... (Heb. 1:3) The unspoken analogy is the relationship between the sun and the rays of light (that stream forth from it). As the the rays of light shine on earth, Jesus shines the Father's glory into our hearts. Now, rays of light express the nature of the sun. But those rays are not the sun itself (rays of light come from the sun) and as long as the sun exists, the radiance of its rays will shine... Jesus is the brightness (the radiance) of the Father's glory, the express image of the Most High God. The Greek word for brightness is apaugosmo: it speaks of God's glory "pouring forth" or "streaming forth" from Jesus. To grasp this excellency of Jesus you must first know that He is of the same nature, substance and essence as the Father... Jesus is God—He is like the Father—but He is a distinct person from the Father, and as a distinct person, He is the brightness (the pouring and streaming forth) of the Father. It is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone [...]

Jesus, The Heir of Everything and Creator of The World

By |2017-09-16T23:52:42+00:00September 16th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

It was an extremely radical idea… Because the Romans proclaimed Caesar as the heir—the rightful owner of the nations—and the leaders of Israel saw themselves as the "heirs" over the land of Israel... Jesus, the Heir of All Things Whom He has appointed heir of all things… (Heb. 1:2) What's more, both groups persecuted and killed Jewish believers. So, for the first believers to claim that a Jewish Man (who died as a criminal) was the true heir of the world... was very extreme! Still today it's a challenging idea for many... But the Father appointed that Jewish Man to be heir of all the property and resources of the earth. The Father decreed that His Son Jesus Christ would be given all the nations as His inheritance: I will give You the nations for Your inheritance… (Ps. 2:8) Jesus inheriting the nations means: He will receive and control all the governments, property, money and resources of earth. That's right: the sweet Jesus you sing songs to will take over all the nations (when He returns)—on the basis of truth, humility, and righteousness (Ps. 45:4; Isa. 11:3-5; 42:1-4). In your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and [...]

The Majestic Splendor of Jesus

By |2017-09-16T21:54:03+00:00September 16th, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

I've said this before, but it's worth reminding… The Holy Spirit longs to guide you into the deep things of God's heart (Jn. 16:13-14; 1 Cor. 2:10-12). In order for Jesus to become your magnificent obsession, you need the Spirit of revelation awakening your heart. But keep in mind, Holy Spirit will not force the treasure of who Jesus is, He will give you according to your hunger… I count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus… (Phil. 3:8) One of the great passages of Scripture is Hebrews one—written to equip the saints of that day, to stand against heresies that denied Jesus' deity. Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (Heb. [...]

My Magnificent Obsession

By |2017-09-15T23:36:35+00:00January 1st, 2017|Spiritual Fuel|

There is a powerful desire that can liberate your heart, unveil your destiny and fill you with spiritual pleasure…It's a powerful longing, a holy obsession—it's the ultimate desire... Many believers only think of Jesus like, the GOD who forgives them and "stamps their spiritual passport" so they can go to heaven... They've experienced the Jesus who heals, provides, guides and blesses… but He is much more than what He does...There is nothing that can more powerfully transform your emotions [and satisfy your soul] than when the Holy Spirit reveals God to your spirit.I believe the most transforming and exhilarating reality in the kingdom of God is the person of Jesus Himself. The Excellence of Knowing Him What if you could see what the Paul saw during his conversion? If you could see what the apostle saw you might be able to live like he lived. Paul gave up everything after he encountered the majestic splendor of Jesus—it became the supreme obsession of his life. I count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus… (Phil. 3:8) To experientially know Christ you must dive into the deep things of God. And for that, you must turn to the Holy Spirit—who came to glorify Jesus by revealing as much of God as you [...]

How Much Jesus Loves You?

By |2017-12-09T23:22:18+00:00December 8th, 2016|Spiritual Fuel|

It's a fair question... Does He love you more or less than your neighbors? Is Jesus' affection for you determined by your performance? If yes, can His feelings for you change next month when your performance diminishes? If not, what determines the measure and quality of His love for you? Here is what Jesus revealed: Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love—John 15:9 (NASB) Quite astonishing! Please read it again. Because that statement has the power to rewire your emotional chemistry (forever). Jesus affirms to love you as the Father loves Him. In the same way, with the same intensity and passion, and the same fiery emotions the Father has for Him. Have in mind that Jesus gave that “love” announcement to the disciples (during last supper night). And they were far from perfect. Peter would deny Jesus three times (sealing the denial with a couple of curse words) and the rest of the disciples would run away What’s more, a couple days before "last supper night" two of them tried to secure first class seating for eternity (Mt. 20: 20-28), leaving the other ten angry and preoccupied about who would [...]

It’s the #1 Question: Who Is God?

By |2017-12-09T23:22:55+00:00October 26th, 2016|Spiritual Fuel|

With this post I start a fascinating series of questions (and answers) about God, his personality, thoughts and opinions... But I will not be giving you "my interpretation" of who He is or what He thinks. No,I will let the Lord speak for Himself... I will simply formulate a question and let Him answer. The first question... Who Is God? Pay close attention to what God said about Himself: And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and He said, “You will say this to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ "―Ex. 3:14 Now God spoke all these words, saying: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me―Ex. 20:1-3 You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and My servant whom I have chosen that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me―Is. 43:10 Thus says the Lord the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the Lord of Hosts: I am the first, and I am the [...]

You Don’t Want To Hear These Words That Day

By |2017-09-15T23:58:22+00:00September 20th, 2015|Spiritual Fuel|

Ready to finish the F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P acronym? Previously we covered F (Fear of the Lord), E (Endurance) L (Love), L (Light of Glory), O (One Thing), W (Worthy), S (Speech) and H (Humility). Now is time for the last two letters—we have kept the best for last…Fasten your seatbelt... I plan to have a very frank and honest conversation with you—we're about to get real—no masks allowed from this point on. And if you're wearing one, you're not going to like me very much (:  I: Intimacy Intimacy with Jesus is the opposite of hearing "I never knew you."  Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? ' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness—Mt. 7:21-23 Believe me, I don't want to hear those words... and I'm sure you don't want Jesus speaking those words to you (in that day). No matter how big or small your ministry [...]

The Rare and Expensive Virtue

By |2017-09-14T16:52:58+00:00July 5th, 2015|Spiritual Fuel|

It's time to continue with F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P, our 10 letter acronym. Previously we covered F (Fear of the Lord), E (Endurance) L (Love), L (Light of Glory), O (One Thing), W (Worthy) and S (Speech). Let's now explore the next letter… H: Humility Take My yoke . . . and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart. (Mt. 11:29) Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 2:3–5) - 2 Thes. 1:11 First, let me define what humility is NOT… Humility is not being shy. It's not being nice and polite, and it's not being poor. Actually, I know several (shy, nice polite and poor) people that are full of arrogance and pride... So, humility is not connected to having or not having money. And it's not defined by good manners or people skills. You might be "diplomatic" or an excellent negotiator (like most politicians) and still be walking in pride. Also, [...]

How to Walk and Talk Right

By |2017-09-14T16:55:50+00:00June 21st, 2015|Spiritual Fuel|

Ready for letter 6 and 7 of F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P? Previously we saw F (Fear of the Lord), E (Endurance) L (Love), L (Light of Glory), and O (One Thing). Let's now continue to explore this 10 letter acronym… W: WORTHY We also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power - 2 Thes. 1:11 What is Paul talking about? How can you be "worthy" of this calling? For starters, to walk "worthy" before the Lord does not mean you have to EARN God's forgiveness, love, approval, etc. That "earn it" approach goes against a fundamental New Covenant teaching: Justification. So Paul—the pioneer of New Covenant doctrine—is not talking about that. Rather, to be worthy of the calling means: to have a "worthy response" toward God—the One that equip us—to walk in the fullness of our calling. Many believers come up short of what God has invited them to walk in, due to half-hearted choices. But this is really a sensitive matter. Because only YOU really know... what God has invited you to walk in. Sure, people (leaders, family, etc) [...]

How to Be a Person of ONE THING in Our “ADD” World

By |2017-09-14T16:58:11+00:00June 14th, 2015|Spiritual Fuel|

"And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her"—Lk. 10:42 Are you ready for letter 4 and 5 of F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P? In previous Spiritual Fuel editions we covered the first 3 of the 10 letter acronym: F (Fear of the Lord), E (Endurance) and L (Love). Now, let's continue with the fourth letter… L: Light of Glory Suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me . . . And since I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus. (Acts 22:6,11) And he said, "Please, show me Your glory." (Ex. 33:18) You shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending. (Jn. 1:51) "I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man… The mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings. 6:17) Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. (Ps. 4:6) His countenance [...]
